Operational Coaching

Most management problems are not talent problems. They’re process problems
wearing a talent costume. You need a full review of both so they’re realigned to your goals.

Business Owners and People Managers seeking transformation

What it actually is.

The leader who avoids the difficult conversations because they don’t know if it’s the process or the team underperforming. The risk to the business is high because the knowledge is spread out.

I spent twenty years building operational systems. I know how to turn a messy process into something anyone can follow. People management is no different. It’s a set of processes you can run, and most managers have never been shown them.

We can look at any one process that is stressing you. Maybe it’s measuring performance, or how your systems work with your team. It could also be about financial discipline, delegation of authority, or improving controls. Or how to deliver high quality work to clients. You name it, I’ve worked on it.

How the sessions run.

Management coaching suffers from the same problem as everything else: people who advise on it have never done it. I’ve run finance teams and connected processes across the world. When I work with you, I’m not repeating a book. I’m telling you what I’ve done, and what I’ve watched work and fail.

I start with the good in how you run your team and build on it, rather than cataloguing your flaws. It’s also direct. I’ll name what I see in the room, and I’ll expect you to do the same. We pick things apart so they don’t fall apart on their own.

The work

What we will actually work on.

The process

Three steps to get going.

01

A free discovery call.

Thirty minutes. You describe what is going on; I tell you honestly whether coaching helps and whether I am the right person.

02

Strengths and goals.

A longer first session to map how you operate and agree what success looks like in three, six or twelve months.

03

The work itself.

Regular sessions, written actions, honest feedback, and a review at the halfway point to check we are still pointed at the right thing.

Outcomes

What tends to change.

Problem areas are clear.

Your gut feeling is confirmed or dismissed. But we find the evidence.

Your team steps up.

Team conflict that gets handled head-on, not ignored into a bigger fire.

Performance is understood.

Clear metrics that run on evidence, not on conversations.

Worth a conversation?

A free call to start. We’ll look at the team, the processes you need unpicking, and a realistic plan. No obligation, and a straight answer either
way.
